Requirements
The main requirement is an always-on machine on your home LAN that can run PME Edge — an old Mac mini, a spare laptop left plugged in, a mini PC, or a Raspberry Pi all work. It just needs to stay powered and reachable on your local network. No Kubernetes or NUC cluster required.
Host machine (runs PME Edge)

All hosts
- On your LAN: Ethernet or Wi‑Fi to your home router — Edge must see the devices you share
- Always-on: Invitees cannot connect when Edge is stopped or the machine is asleep
- Stable address: Static LAN IP or DHCP reservation helps
- Disk / RAM: Edge itself is lightweight; a few hundred MB free disk for state under ~/.edge is enough
Account on the PME Server
You need a PME account to register your Edge node and create invitations to services provided on your LAN.
WireGuard app
Anyone who connects remotely — you on the road, or someone you invite — uses a normal WireGuard app (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, or Linux). They open your invite link, create or sign in to a PME account, scan the QR (or import the profile), and turn the VPN on. They reach only the Allowed IPs you chose.
